It’s been a while since my last post, but just wanted to wish everyone a wonderful Wednesday! Halloween is just around the corner and it’s starting to get chilly outside..

 

It’s also a good time to invest in a kerosene heater before it really gets cold. I was thinking about getting this one myself. I hate being cold.

Stealth Triggers Speak Directly To Women’s Emotional Brains

My brother has always struggled with his relationships with women.

Over the years he’s turned to me a few times when he’s had girl problems. He’s good looking, has a good job and he’s pretty responsible most of the time.

But one of his shortcomings is that he’s prone to being sarcastic and a lot of times his sarcasm is taken as him not caring.

Anyway, I’m hoping that he’ll figure things out for himself someday. I would love to have a sister-in-law and a niece or nephew soon!


Today Isn’t A Good Day To Be An Outdoor Cat

Being an outdoor cat today would really stink. Things indoors are bad enough when it’s 7 degrees outside. I can only imagine how horrible it would be to be a cat trying not to LITERALLY freeze to death in these conditions.

The cold is enough to chill you to your bones and you can’t just shake it off, no matter how hard you might try.

Heck, I’m wearing three shirts – 2 of them sweatshirts – and have a pretty nice space heater pointed in my direction but it doesn’t feel like it’s even making a dent in warding off the cold. I don’t know how a 10 pound cat, even with a luxurious fur coat is doing well in these outdoor conditions. I can only hope that some of my friends and neighbors were kind enough to buy an insulated outdoor cat house to give these furry creatures somewhere safe and warm to seek refuge from the cold.

It’s always good to remember that if you’re cold, so are the animals! If you have outdoor pets please consider bringing them inside and provide them with a spare blanket so they have somewhere warm to rest. Also make sure that they have plenty of fresh food and (unfrozen) water to drink. If you aren’t comfortable allowing them into your home, at least let them hang out in your garage, where they’ll have some shelter from the frigid winds of January!

Ahhhhh Health Kicks!

Today is a gorgeous day. It’s a bit cold at 27 degrees and windy, but the skies are clear and the sun is shining. It’s always days like today that end up being a good day to start a health kick.

When you see the sun melting away the snow and the ice despite the frigid temperatures, it assures you that anything in this life is possible and somehow the coldest days are the clearest ones. And a health kick now will make me a happier person when the warmer – and longer – days of spring finally  arrive.

So, in my pursuit to find a good plan to follow to be ready for pool season, I researched a number of possible programs to follow.

Here’s what they are – in no  particular order.

Total Wellness Cleanse – This program looks interesting to me because it’s an all  encompassing plan that covers every aspect of your diet. It offers a number of different recipes and meal  plans for every day of the week. It claims that it can help evaporate fat and expel life threatening toxins that work against your immune system. Further, it’s a holistic approach to health and wellness and you can even speak with a professional if you need any help or have questions. How great is that?

Forever Body Transformation –  or FBT – is another possibility. This weight loss program is another one where the creators work closely with you to help you achieve weight loss and fitness goals. This online program provides everything needed to make sure you’re eating the correct foods and offers hours of video, with exercises that can be done at home – without having to buy a lot of expensive or large pieces of workout equipment.

Fat Loss Factor – Fat Loss Factor seems to be a serious program for serious weight loss. Pounds, inches and pant sizes be gone! The creator of this particular program has ‘secrets’ that can help anyone lose weight without giving up their beloved foods or working out for 12 hours a day. That definitely sounds like a plan I can stick to!

Anyway, I’m planning on making a decision on a weight loss plan I should be following and getting on it ASAP. I’ll be sure to keep you posted on which plan I decide on!

Easy Spaghetti Salad – A Great Pasta Side Dish

With the holidays here, it’s always nice to have a few staple side dish recipes up your sleeve for potlucks or to bring as a dish to your family get together.

Fresh Vegetables Add Flavor To My Spaghetti Salad

One of my favorite dishes to bring is my famous Spaghetti Salad. I love this recipe because everyone loves it, it’s easy to prepare and only requires a handful of ingredients. It can also be doubled in case you need a lot! This dish should be prepared the night before you want to serve it – as spending the night in the refrigerator makes it taste better.

What You’ll Need

  • 1 Pound of thin spaghetti noodles – cooked per instructions.
  • 1 Package of Dry Italian Salad Dressing.
  • 16 Ounce bottle of your favorite Italian dressing – not creamy style.
  • 1 Green Pepper – cored, cleaned and cut into bite sized pieces.
  • Handful of small broccoli florets.
  • Handful of baby carrots, sliced into small pieces.
  • 2 Stalks of celery – sliced.
  • Cheddar cheese – cut into bite sized cubes.
  • Pepperonis – cut into quarters.

What You Need To Do With These Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl combine cooked and cooled spaghetti noodles with both dry and bottled Italian dressing. Mix this until all spaghetti noodles are evenly and well coated with dressing. Toss in the cut peppers, sliced baby carrots and celery. You can also add other favorite vegetables as desired. Cover tightly and place in the refrigerator overnight. In the morning, add the bite sized cheese cubes and pepperoni. Mix well.

After adding the last two ingredients you’re good to go!
